I began teaching with Teach for America back in 2008, obtained a master’s degree in Secondary English Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV, and proceeded to teach in Kuwait, Florida and several cities in China before I left teaching in 2023. Having taught virtually all ages, and grades six through university in formal settings, I came away with a wealth of knowledge that I still love to share.
While I loved working with children and young adults, my true passion quickly became curriculum design. To see my TeachersPayTeachers (now TPT) store, just click here. I focus primarily on Secondary English Literature and the CCSS RL/RI for grades 6-12, but there is a collection of resources for teaching English as a second Language, too.
I began my education at UGA (go Dawgs!) and studied English literature there while minoring in Spanish and psychology. My focus area for the graduate degree was teaching English as a second language; since then, I also took many courses in psychology at the graduate level. These passions inform my instruction and my passion for education.
